Freezing Milk
Milk is one of the most commonly bought grocery item, especially if you have children. The problem with milk is that it is a perishable food item, so you can not just buy a bunch for your fridge when it goes on sale. In Florida, the price of milk is around $4.00 a gallon. That is more than gas!
Did you know you can freeze milk? Milk actually freezes and thaws quite well. So the next time milk is on sale, go ahead and buy a couple extra gallons and put them in the freezer. If you save two dollars a gallon, doing this with two gallons of milk a month. That is 48 dollars a year! If your family uses a lot of milk the savings can be even more. Just remember to thaw your milk in your fridge to prevent contamination of your milk.
